According to a label on the reverse the horse is identified as Fisherman, bred by Mr W.S. Halford and sold to the trainer Mr Tom Parr of Benham, Berkshire in July 1855. Fisherman was one of the most prolific winners of all time winning no less that sixty-nine races in his five seasons (1855-59) including the Ascot Gold Cups of 1858 and 1859.
