Biography
Pap studied at the Academy in Budapest. Specialised in society portrait commissions and also genre. He is known for his magnificent use of light and shade to create deep contrast and for his extensive use of impasto to create a 3-dimensional effect.
Though there is little known of his life, Pap is recognised as one of the most important Hungarian artists of the period.
